Abby and Brittany Hensel, the beloved conjoined twins who first appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996 when they were six years old, are once again capturing the internet’s attention, this time with a new chapter: motherhood.
Just two weeks after they were first spotted carrying a newborn, the 35-year-old sisters proudly introduced the baby to friends and colleagues at the Minnesota school where they teach fifth grade.
A heartwarming debut
On Wednesday, August 27, Abby and Brittany were seen outside their New Brighton school, cradling the baby carrier as they stepped out of their car. They were wearing a purple, white and leopard-print tank top with jean shorts, black sandals, and had their hair down in waves. The sisters brought the child inside to meet co-workers during a 30-minute visit, a moment that sparked smiles and warm hugs from fellow staff.

“They looked extremely tired during the visit, but they seemed happy to see their colleagues. They struggled at times with the carrier,” an eyewitness shared.
Although the twins haven’t officially confirmed the baby’s identity, the sight of them caring for the newborn has only added to the speculation that Abby and husband Josh Bowling have expanded their family.
Speculation Over the New Arrival
It all began when Abby and Brittany were photographed on August 14 carrying a newborn in a baby seat while running errands. The images sparked immediate headlines, as many believed it to be the couple’s first child.

The twins have remained tight-lipped, declining comment, and Josh, Abby’s husband since 2021, has not addressed the news either. Over the weekend, the twins and Josh were seen again shopping at a grocery store, but notably without the baby.
Still, the sightings haven’t stopped fans from celebrating what they hope is a joyful new chapter.
Love, sisterhood, and resilience
Abby’s marriage to Army veteran and nurse Josh Bowling was only publicly revealed in March 2024, though they tied the knot three years earlier. In June, the twins shared a touching TikTok of their wedding day, dancing to Rolling in the Deep by Adele.

In another TikTok, an AI-generated voice delivered a pointed message to critics: “If you don’t like what I do, but you watch everything that I’m doing — you’re still a fan.”
Josh, who has a daughter from a previous marriage, now appears to be building a life with Abby and Brittany, as one extraordinary family.
From childhood fame to classroom heroes
Abby and Brittany first entered the spotlight in 1996, appearing on Oprah and later the cover of LIFE magazine. They’ve since starred in documentaries and a TLC reality series, graduated from Bethel University with individual degrees, and pursued a shared career in teaching.
Despite sharing a rare condition called dicephalic parapagus, the sisters remain fiercely independent and goal-driven.
“Yeah, we’re going to be moms,” Brittany said back in their 2003 documentary Joined For Life. “We haven’t thought about how being moms is going to work yet.”
Now, over two decades later, it seems they may have figured it out, together.
