The Italian player, who scored a brace against North Macedonia: “We showed that we wanted to dominate. Now let’s get the qualification against Ukraine.”
A great comeback for the ‘Bianconero’. It had been 5 months since Federico Chiesa, (due to injuries of course), last wore the Italian jersey. In his 43rd appearance for the national team, he scored a brace that downed North Macedonia and took Italy one step foward towards qualification.
“There was a bit of fear at the beginning due to the contact on the knee, but it’s part of the game; the important thing is that we have won this match,” commented the winger. “In the second half, we conceded these 2 goals that, in my opinion, we didn’t deserve to concede given how we played overall. Now, let’s go and qualify against Ukraine.”
A POSSIBLE BLACKOUT AGAINST UKRAINE.
Regarding a possible “blackout,” against Ukraine Chiesa explained, “We have a desire to play football, and it’s normal sometimes to lose concentration. But we remain positive, and today, we showed that we wanted to dominate the game, and we deserved the result.”
