Celine Dion’s new post about her severe illness has saddened many: “This is one of the hardest experiences of my life.”

Legendary singer Celine Dion took to Instagram on the occasion of International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day, a condition she herself suffers from.

“As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to manage this autoimmune disorder has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life, but I am still determined to return to the stage one day and live as normal a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support of my children, family, team, and all of you,” the music legend conveyed, adding:

“I want to send support to everyone around the world affected by SPS. I want you to know that you can do it! We can do it! With love, Celine.” The singer concluded her message under an emotional post that many commented on and liked.

Let’s recall that Celine Dion is battling a neurological disorder, known as Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects one in a million people and leads to muscle stiffness.

This illness “locks” the body in a position from which a person cannot move. Due to this condition, Celine had to cancel the European leg of her “Courage” tour.

Celine Dion’s husband, Rene, passed away in January 2016 from throat cancer, a battle he had fought since 1998, in their family home in Las Vegas.

A distraught Celine later told “USA Today” in an interview that her husband had confessed his fear of death and that his only wish was to die in her arms.

She experienced another shock just two days after Rene’s death when her brother, Daniel Dion, passed away in Montreal at the age of 59, also from a malignant illness.
