Country music queen Carrie Underwood has just turned back the clock in the best way possible—and fans are loving it.
Carrie had just wrapped the final show of her dazzling Las Vegas Reflection residency.
Then came the surprise.
The Grammy-winning superstar dropped a nostalgic, and emotional, career update.
She’s re-releasing her debut album Some Hearts to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, May 18, the Before He Cheats singer shared the exciting news with her 13.3 million followers, unveiling the Some Hearts 20th Anniversary Edition Vinyl, set to hit shelves November 14, exclusively at Target.
“Thrilled to announce the Some Hearts 20th Anniversary Edition Vinyl – coming November 14, exclusively at @Target!” she wrote, alongside a preview of the updated album artwork.
“This release means so much to me, and I can’t wait for you all to see what’s inside.”
And it’s not just a repackaged throwback. The collector’s edition will feature a refreshed design, a keepsake photo book, rare live recordings, and as Carrie teased, even more surprises that have yet to be announced.
Fans React with Joy and Existential Panic
The post sent fans into a frenzy
Thousands reminisced about the album that launched Carrie’s career after her American Idol win in 2005.
“I am looking forward to this. The album of my teens! This got me through so much,” one fan gushed.
“Childhood me is screaming,” added another.
“This is beautiful. I love this album,” wrote a third.
But among the excitement, some fans had a jarring realization about how much time has passed.
“OMG I’m getting old,” admitted one commenter, while another echoed the shock: “Can’t believe 20 years of this amazing album.” “Wtf this album is 20 years old already???” asked another in disbelief.
Some Hearts dropped in November 2005 and became an instant smash. It featured iconic hits like “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” and “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.”
The album went on to become the best-selling debut by a solo female artist in country music history. It cemented Carrie’s status as a true powerhouse in the genre.
From Vegas to Idol — Carrie Keeps Shining
The re-release news came right after Carrie’s final Reflection show in Las Vegas. The residency ran for three years at Resorts World Theatre.
It featured jaw-dropping vocals, glittering gowns, and intimate fan moments.
The show earned rave reviews and proved once again why Carrie is one of country music’s most enduring stars.
To top off the weekend, Underwood made a return to her American Idol roots. Having stepped in this season to fill Katy Perry’s seat at the judge’s table, she was front and center for Sunday night’s finale, which saw Jamal Roberts crowned the newest Idol champion.
“Congratulations to the newest winner of @americanidol !!!” Carrie wrote in a celebratory post featuring a selfie with Roberts.
“I’m so proud of @officialjamalroberts and all he has accomplished this season, and I can’t wait to see what mountains he climbs next! He’s going to do great things!”
Whether she’s celebrating a milestone, mentoring new talent, or lighting up the Vegas stage, Carrie Underwood continues to blend reflection and reinvention. And with Some Hearts turning 20, fans have the perfect reason to fall in love with it all over again.
