Bronny James’ stats with the L.A. Lakers raise eyebrows. Is nepotism a real thing in the NBA?

In his last six games with the L.A Lakers, Bronny James is yet to hit a single basket

Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, added some playing time with Lakers first team, playing only two minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-102 loss to the Clippers during the Los Angeles derby.

After some good games in the G league, and ahead of the game against the Clippers the Lakers recalled both Vanderbilt and James. But with his time on the court Bronny continued his poor form.

In his last six games with the Lakers, the 20-year-old, 6’2 shooting guard has not scored a single basket. In 2 minutes against the clippers his stats say: 0, 0, 0, and so on until he is +1 in the +/- section.

Bronny, who was selected by the Lakers with the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, currently averages 0.4 points, 0.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in just 2.4 minutes per game in the NBA.

However, while splitting his time between the Lakers and their affiliate team, the South Bay Lakers, Bronny has shown promise in the G-League. Over seven games, he has averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 26.9 minutes per game.

Overall, it is said that his move was motivated only be the fame and the greatness of his father. That if Bronny was just another player he would have never been drafted. And if we look at his L.A Lakers, not much is left to be said.

But in life we can never know, maybe Bronny James will elevate his game and become an important player. Remains to be seen. His current game, leaves much to be desired.
