Fans slam Bronny James for allegedly lying in his first press-conference with his new team L.A Lakers
Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, recently made headlines when he was selected 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in last week’s NBA Draft. Contrary to earlier speculation, Bronny clarified that he had not entertained the idea of joining his father’s team prior to the draft.
During his introductory press conference, Bronny expressed his commitment to forging his own path in the NBA. “My goal is to establish my own identity. I’m here to work hard and improve every day. The idea of playing alongside my dad was only a possibility, but it was never my primary focus,” Bronny stated.
Bronny James, recently drafted 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers, has openly acknowledged the increased pressure that comes with being LeBron James’ son.
“There’s definitely an amplified amount of pressure,” Bronny admitted. “I’ve already seen comments on social media and the Internet questioning if I deserve this opportunity. But I’ve dealt with stuff like this my entire life, so it’s nothing new. It’s more intense, for sure, but I’ll handle it.”
Despite his confidence, Bronny has faced rumors and criticism regarding his draft selection. Speculation arose that his agent, Rich Paul, had contacted NBA teams, advising them not to draft Bronny based solely on his father’s name. However, it was later reported that the Los Angeles Lakers were intentionally reserving their draft pick specifically for Bronny.
