The Lazio captain and the future: “The criticism from some fans has hurt me.” Then he sends a social media message to those who support him while leaving the door open for a move to Saudi Arabia.
Ciro Immobile doesn’t hide his frustration. Lazio‘s captain, who has had a pretty tough start to the season (two goals in the first eight matchdays), hasn’t taken well the criticism received from some of the biancocelesti fans.
“Maybe many people forget that when I arrived here in 2016, it wasn’t like it is now,” he said to Il Messaggero. “We didn’t even know who the coach would be. Now that we’re in the Champions League, and they want to bench me? It doesn’t seem like the best recognition to me. But I keep moving forward, as I always have.”
Immobile and the Future
During the summer, Immobile turned down an offer from Arabia: “It’s a solution I considered this summer when some offers arrived. However, I decided to decline it for the sake of the national team and the Champions League.”
“After such a start to the season, I had some questions, especially after the criticism from some fans, fortunately not from all of them. This hurts me, in fact, it even shakes me. And now my thoughts are no longer the same as they were in July.”
The Social Media Message
Yesteday, the Lazio striker dedicated an Instagram story to the fans who have always supported him. In the photo he posted on social media, he said: “Side by side, you are always with me, this is for the true fans,” Immobile writed, emphasizing once again that a portion of the fans is no longer on his side.
