The former Juventus defender, speaking to the official website of the Turkish club, said, “Calhanoglu is one of the best midfielders in the world right now.”
Leonardo Bonucci has given a comprehensive interview to the official website of Fenerbahce, the club he recently joined after a disappointing stint at Union Berlin. The defender touched upon various topics, starting with Euro 2024.
“My goal is to be there. I had a meeting with Spalletti before the transfer,” explained Bonucci. “It’s not an easy tournament. There are strong nations, but we are the champions. We will go to defend the title. I want to be there with the national team and give my best when I’m there.”
Regarding the Inter-Juventus duel in Serie A: “The rivalry between Inter and Juventus is similar to that between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray here. But I feel like Juventus might have a slight advantage because Inter is also playing in the Champions League. I believe this duel will continue until the last game, but I see Juve as the favorites.”
“I met Hakan Calhanoglu, like 2-3 months ago and we had a long conversation. He is one of the best midfielders in the world right now, he is doing great things, and that is good for the Turkish National Team as well.”
Bonucci discussed his move to Fenerbahce, which will be his final club before hanging up his boots. “I felt how much everyone wanted me, and that was very important to me. Later, I met Dzeko, who gave me detailed information about the club,” he added. “Then it became easier for me to come here.”
At the end some sweet words for the young Turkish ‘Bianconeri’ talent Kenan Yildiz. “Kenan is a very important player for Juventus and the national team. He is a quality player, strong, and talented. He has the ability to become the best player for both Juventus and the Turkish national team, he is the future.”
