Beyoncé’s NFL halftime show attracted more viewers than the Presidential inauguration

Research indicates that Trump’s ceremony drew the smallest audience since Barack Obama’s second inauguration in 2013.

New research reveals that Beyoncé’s halftime performance during an NFL game on Christmas Day outshined the viewership of President Trump’s inauguration.

The Baltimore Ravens versus Houston Texans matchup, aired by Netflix, saw its viewership peak at 27 million during Beyoncé’s set. In contrast, Trump’s inauguration attracted approximately 24.6 million television viewers, marking the smallest audience for a presidential swearing-in ceremony since Barack Obama’s second inauguration in 2013, according to the Associated Press.

The research also found that viewership for Trump’s inauguration was significantly lower than Joe Biden’s 2021 ceremony, which drew 33.8 million viewers, and Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, which attracted 30.6 million.

Following the publication of the findings, many Reddit users took to the platform to poke fun at Trump, highlighting the decline in viewership.

Donald Trump officially took the oath of office on Monday, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The inauguration saw the presence of notable figures, including billionaire tech leaders Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, alongside Trump’s family.

On his first day in the Oval Office, Trump reversed several of President Joe Biden’s policies and announced the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement. Additionally, he signed an order to delay Congress’ proposed TikTok ban for 75 days.

During this time, Trump indicated he would work toward securing a deal that balances national security concerns with allowing the popular social media platform to remain accessible to Americans.
