The German club is courting the defender whom AC Milan values at โฌ100 million. The intention of the club is to extend with the player very soon.
With 200 appearances in the Milan jersey, Theo Hernandez is now one of the veterans of the Rossoneri team. He leads the squad when Davide Calabria isn’t on the field and is definitely one of the team’s technical leaders under Stefano Pioli. Every year, he proves himself and consistently delivers impressive numbers.
Hernandez has become the third defender to score at least 20 goals (26) and provide at least 20 assists (20) in the top five European leagues over the last five seasons, following Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro. Those are some staggering numbers. The Frenchman at Milan has also improved defensively. During defensive crises, he’s volunteered to play in the center to support the coach and his teammates.
CONTRACT RENEWAL
This summer, the club will prioritize the renewal of Hernandez’s contract.Theo has already extended his contract with Milan once before, back when Maldini and Massara were on the fourth floor of the Milan headquarters. Now, it’s up to Moncada, DโOttavio, and CEO Giorgio Furlani to secure the winger’s agreement.
Theo currently earns a net salary of 4 million euros plus 500 thousand euros in bonuses, with the contract expiring on June 30, 2026. The management will try to extend the contract by at least another three seasons and also increase the salary, surpassing the five million euro mark. After all, throughout his years in Milan, he has been one of the most consistent players and remains one of the coach’s most important weapons.
The Bayern Munich Threat
Milan’s response is also aimed at addressing the rumors circulating in Germany. According to ‘Corriere dello Sport’ , Bayern Munich could swoop in for the Milan full-back during the summer to replace Alphonso Davies, who is reportedly heading to Real Madrid. There are even talks of staggering offers for the French full-back, but Milan won’t settle for anything less than a โฌ100 million.
The Rossoneri are considering how to secure the player, as they deem him essential for the club’s growth in the coming years. They’ll soon hold discussions with Theo’s manager too. Throughout his time at Milan, he’s always prioritized the club, rejecting advances from other top European teams.
Through his actions, he’s shown his belief in the Rossoneri project by renewing his contract before many other key players. “Happy and proud. The best is yet to come,” he wrote yesterday after reaching his 200th appearance for the Devil’s shirt.
