Anthony Davis brutally honest to LeBron James’ new record with praise for Michael Jordan

the Los Angeles Lakers power forward took a playful jab on his teammate. It seemed real

LeBron James, a legend of this game, and widely regarded as one of basketball’s all-time greats, continues to cement his legacy with unparalleled achievements that will inspire generations.

In his latest feat, LeBron reached 30 or more points in a regular-season game for the 563rd time, surpassing the record held by Michael Jordan since 2003. Jordan, a Chicago Bulls legend, achieved this milestone in just 1,072 games over 15 seasons.

In contrast, LeBron surpassed the mark during his 1,523rd game across 22 seasons. This achievement highlights the longevity and consistency of James’ career compared to Jordanโ€™s iconic dominance.

Anthony Davis’ was really weird about it

The partnership between Anthony Davis and LeBron James has been a pivotal force for the Los Angeles Lakers in the recent years, culminating in an NBA championship victory in 2020 against the Miami Heat.

Despite their camaraderie, Davis appeared a bit weirdโ€”or at least playfulโ€”about LeBronโ€™s latest career milestone. Following the Lakersโ€™ win over the Hawks, Davis addressed the media in the locker room, making his thoughts known with a mix of humor and admiration.

โ€œIt bothers me,โ€ Davis joked with a grin. โ€œBut it took him seven more seasons“. … “No, actually, growing up, I was more No. 1 LeBron. That was my era. So that’s obviously a hell of an accomplishment. I think he’s probably No. 1 in everything at this point. I’ve been here long enough to witness so many accomplishments.โ€

LeBron James, who turned 40 last week, remains one of the few active players who had the chance to witness Michael Jordan’s dominance in the 1990s firsthand. Growing up in Akron, Ohio, James studied and idolized “His Airness,” drawing inspiration from Jordanโ€™s unparalleled success with the Chicago Bulls.

When LeBron surpassed Jordan for fourth place on the NBA’s career scoring list in March 2019, the moment was deeply emotional. Sitting on the Lakersโ€™ bench, tears filled his eyes as he reflected on Jordanโ€™s impact. โ€œHe was an inspiration,โ€ James said at the time, adding, โ€œthe lightning in a bottle for me, because I wanted to be like him.โ€
