Scott Swift, father of pop star Taylor Swift, has reportedly been cleared of charges following an investigation into an incident involving a photographer during the “Eras Tour” in Australia. Authorities from the North Shore Police Area Command investigated the altercation that took place at Neutral Bay Wharf in the early hours of Feb. 27. They determined that no further police action was necessary, as confirmed by a representative of the New South Wales police force.
In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Taylor Swift mentioned, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”
However, the photographer involved in the altercation, Ben McDonald, 52, provided a different perspective. He stated, “There was no situation where we were aggressive. You know, I was not aggressive. They just didn’t call for it, you know what I mean?” McDonald further explained, “Here’s what they do this time around is they shoved it at us, you know, like, they’re shoving the umbrella at us. I couldn’t see in front of me. I didn’t know what was going on behind the umbrella.”
McDonald alleged that Scott Swift punched him in the face during the incident. He added, “At one point, I tried to move the umbrella away from my face. It was right up in my face. I couldn’t see. And then the next thing you know, they shoved harder, and then the next, her father has taken, charged at me and punched me in the face.”
After the alleged assault, McDonald reported the incident to the police. Following an exchange of words, Taylor and her father left the scene.
