The Lazio coach after Bologna’s defeat: “Our reaction to their goal could have been more vehement, not capitalizing our chances is our fault.”
Maurizio Sarri commented on his Lazio’s defeat in Bologna as follows: “We had a good first half; we deserved to close it with an advantage – were the first words of the Biancocelesti coach on Sky.
“We conceded a very cheap goal, and I’m not sure how we were able to concede after only 30 seconds in the second half. I don’t know how to explain that. Not only we allowed an easy goal, after that we struggled to react.”
The absence of goals, especially from the forwards, seems to be the number one problem at the moment for Sarri’s team: “It’s a fact. There’s no denying it, and it needs to be taken into consideration. The style of play is similar to last year, but players are not performing.”
“Not capitalizing on the amount of gameplay is a fault. After conceding the goal, we became too eager, stretched ourselves too thin, and lost our composure. That goal stunned us, and the reaction could have been more vehement.”
Fewer solutions without Milinkovic-Savic? In some respects, it’s a missing solution, but in terms of ball possession, we might even be doing better than last year.”
The next challenge is the Champions League match against Feyenoord: “It’s an opportunity that comes with a risk. They’re a strong team, and we’ve always faced a tough atmosphere in Rotterdam, and I hope it’s going to be the same for them Rome.”
