The Duchess was fearing for the safety of her children.
According to insights from royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Meghan Markle might have found a compelling reason to abstain from a potential reunion with Prince Harry and their children in the UK.
Despite speculation about an olive branch extended by Prince William and Kate Middleton to the Sussexes, Meghan reportedly hesitates to move to the other side. Fitzwilliams believes that security concerns for their children might be the real reason why Meghan is not travelling.
“The security arrangements would be tailored to their specific situation. The UK authorities would ensure a secure trip, Fitzwilliams elaborated. However, he acknowledged that “security concerns could be cited as a reason not to attend.”
Prince Harry, is expected to visit the UK in May for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, raising the possibility of a family reunion, particularly after reports of a phone call between the brothers following Kate’s announcement.
Another royal expert, Tom Quinn, suggested that William and Kate extended an invitation to Harry, Meghan, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, to mend fences. However, Quinn expressed doubts about Meghan accepting the invitation, citing the security factor as a significant factor.
While Harry and Meghan have yet to respond to the invitation, their support for the Royal Family during challenging times, including King Charles and Kate’s health struggles, has been noted. Whether this gesture will pave the way for a reunion remains uncertain.
