Allegri ahead of Atalanta game: “Vlahovic won’t play tomorrow. Pioli says we are the favorite?…”

The press-conference by the Juventus coach on the eve of the match against Atalanta: here’s what he had to say:

Everything is ready for the match between Juventus and Atalanta, respectively, the third and fourth teams in the standings. The kickoff at the Gewiss Stadium is scheduled for 6:00 PM. During the press conference, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri discussed the upcoming match and also announced the significant absence of Vlahovic.

“We played one direct opponent until now against Lazio, and tomorrow we have another one (Atalanta). They are an aggressive team. If we want to win, we have to play the perfect match.

“Vlahovic won’t be available tomorrow; he has the usual back problem. He stopped training yesterday, and today he had quite a bit of pain, so it’s better to rest him and let him fully recover. Kean will return, and he will start, but Milik won’t be available because he is also out with an injury.”

He then responded to Pioli saying Juventus is the favorite to win the Serie A: “Talking about these things is pointless. There is no mathematical equation that says: not playing European competitions makes a team favorite to win the league. The numbers from recent years prove that, what team not playing in Europe has won it?”

The coach then concluded: “The team is working well; we have enthusiasm, a desire to show off, and improve. We work with the fact that we are not in the Champions League, adding some extra motivations to the players and the team. When you have a team with young players, there is only room for growth.”
