Actress Sydney Sweeney transforms body for role as boxer Christy Martin in upcoming movie

Sydney Sweeney is fully embracing her latest role, undergoing a striking transformation to portray former professional boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic.

The 27-year-old actress took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 16, to share behind-the-scenes photos from the filmโ€™s set.

In the images, Sweeney sports dark brown hair with bangsโ€”marking a dramatic departure from her signature blonde lookโ€”and showcases her toned physique, a testament to her intense preparation for the role.

Her post came after paparazzi photos from the set began circulating online. Addressing the early reveal, Sweeney captioned her post:

“Well, the catโ€™s out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes, so hereโ€™s a little BTS from my film Iโ€™m working on right now.”

Returning to the Ring for an Intense Physical Challenge

Sweeneyโ€™s commitment to the role extends beyond just changing her appearance. In a previous interview with Deadline on May 8, she confirmed her casting as Martin and revealed her enthusiasm for the physical demands of the role.

The Euphoria star shared that she had trained in kickboxing between the ages of 12 and 19, making this project a perfect opportunity to revisit the sport.

โ€œI was itching to get back in the ring, train, and transform my body,โ€ she told Deadline.

The upcoming film is directed by David Michรดd (The King), and fans are already eager to see Sweeney bring the legendary boxerโ€™s story to life. With her dedication to both the physical and emotional aspects of the role, this biopic is shaping up to be one of her most transformative performances yet.
