A tradition revealed: Biden’s farewell letter for Trump in the Oval Office is now fully revealed

President Donald Trump found the letter from Joe Biden on his Desk on Monday. It is now revealed what it said

On Monday, former President Donald Trump captured attention by briefly showing reporters a letter left for him by President Joe Biden, tucked away in a drawer of the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk.

This gesture continues the longstanding tradition of outgoing presidents leaving a personal note for their successors.

Now, the full contents of that letter have finally been unveiled.

As I depart from this sacred office, I extend my best wishes to you and your family for the next four years,” Joe Biden wrote, as reported by Fox News.

He continued, “The American peopleโ€”and people across the globeโ€”look to this house for stability during the inevitable storms of history. My prayer is that the years ahead bring prosperity, peace, and grace to our nation.”

Biden concluded the letter with, “May God bless you and guide you, as He has blessed and guided our beloved country since its founding.” The note was signed “Joe Biden” and dated January 20, the day he left office.

The message reflects a more conciliatory tone than the heated exchanges during their campaign. Biden had described Trump as a danger to democracy, while Trump had characterized Biden as the leader of a “criminal family.”

The tradition of outgoing presidents leaving notes for their successors is believed to have started in 1989, with President Ronald Reagan writing to his vice president-turned-successor, George H.W. Bush.

Despite his refusal to attend Biden’s 2021 inauguration, citing unfounded claims of election fraud, Donald Trump still upheld the tradition by leaving a letter behind.

“The president wrote a very generous letter,” Biden shared at the time. “Because it was private, I wonโ€™t discuss it until I have the chance to speak with him, but it was generous.”
