A Sad Story: Ex Serie A star, he was almost a Ballon d’Or winner, now sells vacuum cleaners: do you remember him?

The midfielder has changed his life completely, he has gained a few extra pounds, and invested in a specific market that has nothing to do with football.

In Parma and with his national team, he was special on the field. So much so that he came close to winning the Ballon d’Or in 1994 when he finished 4th after the World Cup in the United States.

Tomas Brolin, a former Serie A player, completely changed his life after hanging up his boots at the age of 28. “Everyone says that 28 is too young to retire, but it depends on what you’ve accomplished in 28 years as a footballer. I had done a lot,” said Brolin, who also played for Leeds United and Crystal Palace during his career.

HIS NEW LIFE

Now, well past the age of 50, Brolin is no longer part of the football world; he’s an entrepreneur in Sweden. He’s hardly recognizable on the street.

After meeting the inventor Goran Edlund, he decided to invest in the vacuum cleaner market and he is doing well in that regard. Brolin also had a stint as a professional poker player.
