A return to Serie A? NO! Breaking from Turkey: Mauro Icardi to join Real Madrid in January

According the reports from Turkey, the ex Inter and Sampdoria striker is on the verge of transferring to Spain, earning 8 million plus bonuses in the process.

Mauro Icardi has rediscovered his form at Galatasaray, boasting an impressive start to the season with 12 goals in 15 league matches and 5 in Champions League. According to Turkish media, the Argentine striker born in 1993 is on the verge of signing with Real Madrid in the upcoming January transfer window. The media outlets are convinced that the former Inter captain could make a return to the top-tier football, thus joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Facing challenges in the attack due to injuries and the absence of a true number nine, except for Joselu, Real Madrid is reportedly close to securing a six-month deal with Maurito. With all restrictions lifted regarding the transfer market and European competitions, Icardi could potentially feature in the Champions League Round of 16 for the Spanish club.

While there is no direct confirmation from the clubs, Radio Marca has enthusiastically reported the news. It brings to mind the words of one of the player’s agents, Elio Letterio Pino, who stated at the end of November, “Real Madrid has not made any offer for Icardi, but we are in talks with the club officials. On Monday, I will go to Istanbul to meet Erden Timur, vice president of Galatasaray. As of today, there is still no official offer, but I am in Madrid at the moment.”

According to reports in Turkey, a contract is said to be ready for Icardi, who would reportedly embrace the destination with enthusiasm. The deal is rumored to be around 8 million euros plus bonuses.
