A look inside the new Air Force One: Qatar’s lavish $400M gift to President Trump – Photos

The Royal Family of Qatar will gift a fully customized private jet to former U.S. President Donald Trump—intended to be used as a new version of Air Force One.

The ultra-luxurious aircraft is set to serve as an alternative Air Force One during President Donald Trump’s second term and will eventually be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation shortly before he leaves office.

Sources close to the matter told ABC News that the official announcement was initially expected to take place during Trump’s upcoming visit to Qatar—his first international trip of his second term. However, a senior White House official clarified that the aircraft will not be formally presented during the visit this week.

On Sunday night, the President confirmed the administration’s intention to accept the aircraft in a social media post, describing the deal as a “very public and transparent transaction” involving the Department of Defense.

The Qatari luxury jet offered to President Donald Trump is a Boeing 747-8, previously part of the Qatar Amiri Flight fleet.

The aircraft features a master bedroom, two private en-suite bathrooms, a grand central staircase connecting its decks, and a spacious business lounge with card tables. Configured for just 89 passengers, it offers unmatched comfort compared to commercial versions.

The interior, designed by Cabinet Alberto Pinto, includes premium materials like sycamore wood and custom Tai Ping carpets. The jet will undergo U.S. security upgrades before serving temporarily as Air Force One, with plans to eventually transfer it to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

Security and Modifications

Before it can operate as a temporary Air Force One, the aircraft is undergoing critical upgrades to meet U.S. presidential transport standards.

The U.S. Department of Defense has partnered with L3Harris Technologies to equip the jet with advanced security systems and state-of-the-art communication technology.

These enhancements are vital to ensure the aircraft meets the strict operational and safety protocols required for presidential travel, allowing secure communications and maximum protection at all times.

Future Plans

Once its role as Air Force One concludes, the aircraft is set for a historic transition. By January 2029, it will be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation, where it is expected to become a key exhibit. This move will preserve the aircraft not just as a symbol of luxury, but also as part of American presidential history.

This extraordinary jet perfectly reflects the blend of opulence and authority expected for world leaders, offering an exclusive look into the elite standards of comfort, security, and prestige that accompany heads of state.
