Royal couple Prince William and Princess Kate have interesting and unique names for each other

Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary this month, maintaining their reputation as a charming pair admired for their regal elegance and approachable demeanor. In addition to being the Prince and Princess of Wales, they also have sweet nicknames that bring a sense of closeness to their public image.

Ingrid Seward, who is a royal editor on The Sun’s Royal Show, revealed the couple’s playful nature by disclosing their loving nicknames for each other. She disclosed that Prince William was affectionately known as “Big Willie” and Kate was lovingly nicknamed “Babykins” in their early days. Seward observed that as time passes, these nicknames may change, showing how their relationship is always evolving.
The custom of using personal nicknames is present in the royal family, giving insight into their private relationships. King Charles affectionately calls Queen Camilla “darling” or “beloved,” similar to his endearing terms for his late mother as his “beloved mother.”

In the meantime, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have their own charming nicknames. Publicly recognized as “H” and “Meg,” these names suggest unspoken feelings of love. Meghan is also known by a variety of family nicknames, including “Flower” and “Bean,” as well as “Tungsten,” a name given to her by Charles to represent her strength.

Commenting on William and Kate’s bond, Seward praised their genuine connection and mutual support. In contrast to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are more openly affectionate, William and Kate demonstrate a more understated form of affection through shared laughter and occasional gestures of closeness, showcasing a deep and comfortable connection.

Their romance began at St Salvator’s Hall, fondly referred to as Sally’s, where they were both enrolled in their academic pursuits. Although William started with History of Art, he later changed to Geography because he was drawn to Kate’s charm and sense of humor.
