Lucky fan that joins the stage with country star Zach Bryan goes viral on social media

During a recent live performance by country music sensation Zach Bryan, one lucky fan had the opportunity of a lifetime when the artist invited him on stage to sing.

The concert, held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Monday, attracted a massive crowd of country music enthusiasts.

Lucas Mason, a 17-year-old from St. Catharines, Ontario, shared his excitement with a digital news outlet, saying, โ€œBefore the show, I was really hoping to join him on stage.โ€ Mason had prepared a sign that read, โ€œDarien Lake 2022, Lake Gardens 2023, can I play Heading South with you at Scotiabank 2024?โ€ This message hinted at Masonโ€™s previous attendance at Zach Bryanโ€™s concerts and his desire to perform on stage with the singer this time. Unfortunately, security confiscated Masonโ€™s sign at the venue entrance, making his dream seem unlikely.

Undeterred, Mason improvised by purchasing a Bryan t-shirt at the event and writing a new message, โ€œCan I play Heading South??โ€ on it. โ€œI ruined the shirt, but it was totally worth it,โ€ Mason remarked. โ€œI was determined to make it happen.โ€

In the pit area, Mason built connections with fellow concert attendees in the hopes of catching Bryanโ€™s attention. โ€œI talked to everyone in the pit and asked for their help by pointing their flashlights at me,โ€ Mason explained.

A video shared on TikTok by the account @greatamericanbarscene captured the moment when Zach Bryan invited Mason on stage, quickly going viral with over 10 million views.

Recalling the experience, Mason mentioned, โ€œBefore he started singing, he noticed everyone shouting and pointing.โ€ Bryan then tested Masonโ€™s knowledge of the song โ€œHeading South,โ€ a hit that played a significant role in Bryanโ€™s country music career.

Even the journey home was filled with excitement as Masonโ€™s fellow passengers chanted, โ€œPlay your guitar,โ€ prompting him to perform โ€œSomething in the Orangeโ€ and โ€œRevivalโ€ once more.

Mason, who began learning guitar five years ago and recently started vocal lessons, regularly performs at small venues with around 50 attendees. Heโ€™s also working towards releasing his own single or EP in the coming weeks.
