The former Juventus captain has pointed to the former Milan goalkeeper as the future and the leader of the National Team.
Giorgio Chiellini has just announced his retirement from professional football. The former Juventus legend and captain of the European champion Italy national team has hung up his boots after his stint in Los Angeles.
In his latest interview with Sky Sport, among various topics discussed, Chiellini pointed to Donnarumma as the best Italian player and defined him as the future leader of the national team: “Donnarumma is currently the greatest Italian footballer in the world. With all due respect to others, he has the most talent internationally, and is the only one who can reach the top tier. It’s not easy for him in Paris, but he remains different from the others.”
Gigio is going through a challenging period in Paris right now, he has started the season with a few too many mistakes and put the qualification for the Champions League round of 16 at risk. However, Chiellini has no doubts about his qualities and leadership on the National Team.
