The missed qualification will costs Milan €80m. Cardinale makes a decision on Pioli’s future

The day after the loss to Borussia Dortmund was full of events in casa ‘Milan’. In fact, at Milanello, CEO Giorgio Furlani and President Gerry Cardinale were present the whole day.

NUMBERS

Red Bird‘s top executive did not travel back to the United States; as the president Cardinale and CEO Furlani stayed in Milan to directly address the most important aspects of club management. Milan is on the verge of saying goodbye to the qualification for the Champions League round of 16, and they could say the same to the FIFA 2025 Club World Cup which could have brought the team around 80 million euros.

PIOLI’S FUTURE

A 2-hour discussion was held with coach Stefano Pioli, analyzing the situation (with a focus on injuries and results). The confidence in the coach was confirmed, but his technical leadership remains under observation. Barring some unforeseen changes, Pioli will remain until the end of the season. Only then we will know if the club will continue with him, or will look to other solutions.
