Lautaro: “We want to win the Champions League. Will I stay at Inter for a long time? Here’s what I think.”

The Inter captain is rallying the team on the eve of their seasonal debut in European competitions, where the Nerazzurri will face the Spanish team Real Sociedad.

Hear the ‘Nerazzurri’ captain ahead of their Champions League debut this season: “I can’t say we will reach the final again. But I can confirm one thing: we will work as we did last year to achieve it and this time win it, that’s for sure.

“We are at the beginning of a long journey; and we are a new team this season. I’m happy with what we are doing here; it’s a matter of pride,” says the captain.

Lautaro Martinez feels at home with Inter. He doesn’t see himself above the others, despite wearing the armband: “It doesn’t mean I’m above the others, but I’m certainly happy to wear it because it’s recognition for what I’ve given to Inter.

Do I see myself here for a long time? I’m used to not looking too far ahead. You never know in this world. But today, I’m very happy here; I enjoy defending this shirt for my fans.”

“I expect a high-level opponent tomorrow, (talking about Real Sociedad), very interesting,” continues Toro. “In front of their home crowd, they will be very aggressive. But we are in good shape, regardless of the opponent; we play good football, which is what we wanted.”

Playing with Thuram: “I’m happy to play with him. He’s the same age as me, and he will give us a great hand; he has strength and quality.”
